Under the Patronage of H.H. Sultan, SRTA Completes Maintenance and Development Works in Al-Madam
Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has completed a number of maintenance and development
projects in Al-Madam and its environs to develop and maintain roads in Sharjah and to implement
its strategy to achieve the highest rates of traffic safety. This came in accordance with the
directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and
Ruler of Sharjah, to expand infrastructure projects in the central region and to keep pace with
the Emirate's overall development plans.
Dr. Mohsin Balwan, Director of Road Maintenance Department, stated that a plan has been drawn up
to develop the central region's roads, which His Highness pays close attention. The project
implemented according to the vision of His Highness and permanently followed up by H.H. Sheikh
Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman
of Sharjah Executive Council to develop road networks according to international traffic safety
standards and to please the residents and road network users in the area.
He assured that Al-Madam witnessed a number of maintenance projects in 2018 and 2019 including
this project, where roads were maintained and developed, traffic signboards were replaced and
repaired, roads marked and speed bumps were maintained. Maintenance and development works on the
road completed according to the latest international standards to ensure safety and security and
compatible with climate and environmental variables.
In order to provide the highest traffic safety rates, the authority did maintenance works on
Al-Buhais – Fili road including maintenance of fences, traffic signboards and asphalt. Besides,
traffic-calming devices were implemented with high standards to raise traffic safety rates and
save lives and properties in Al-Madam and its environs such as southern Al-Buhais, Al-Khawaled,
Al-Ghawanem and others.
According to Dr. Balwan, the authority always keens to confront all daily mobility challenges
and improves road networks to ensure safety for roads users and to maintain the public
appearance of Sharjah especially of the central region. Besides, SRTA keens to please, keep
residents and visitors safe and ease the flow of their movement by maintain road marking in
Al-Madam and its environs.
