Sheikh Majid Bin Saqr al Qassimi Square
In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi,
Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at maintaining the civilized and artful
appearance of the shining city, and providing an infrastructure to support the road safety, the
Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) stated that the development works of Sheikh Majid
bin Saqr Al Qasimi Square are fully completed to the traffic, in continuation of the recently
completed development works in Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi Square, from the project of
the emirate’s squares development and turn them into intersections with permanent traffic
signals to reduce the traffic congestion, and to achieve the Authority’s vision in providing
safe roads and smooth movement of traffic.
His Excellency Eng. Yousef Khamis Al-Othmani confirmed that the development plans included a
re-construction of Sheikh Majid bin Saqr Al Qasimi Square and the roads leading to it from the
four directions, by 1.1 km for Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi Street and 1.8 km for Majid
bin Saqr Street Al Qasimi, to increase the capacity of the square and the aforementioned roads.
