Sharjah roads: Launching the Roads and Parking Lots for the Livestock and Cattle Market in Sajaa Area Project at a cost of AED 13 million

Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah announced the completion of the Roads and Parking Lots for the Livestock and Cattle Market in Sajaa Area Project and its official launch today, at a cost of AED 13 million.

This project comes as part of the authority's efforts to facilitate people's movement and keep pace with the rapid development of this sector.

Yousef Saleh Al-Suwaiji, chairman of the SRTA, said that the Road Projects Department in the Authority has successfully completed the implementation of the Roads and Parking Lots for the Livestock and Cattle Market in Sajaa Area Project at a cost of AED 13 million; indicating that the new Project will be officially launched today (Thursday).

Eng. Al-Suwaiji explained that this project is expected to help a large segment of visitors to the Livestock and Cattle Market in Sajaa Area, by providing a set of parking lots and modern roads that comply with the highest international standards in this aspect.

On her part, Fatima Al Ketbi, Director of Road Projects Department, SRTA, said this new network of roads is linked to Sharjah-Al Dhaid Road and other arterial roads to the Sajaa industrial area and the Emirates Road. She pointed out that the new road would save both time and cost overruns for the public, livestock traders and all those related to the transport trade.

Al Ketbi Explained that the newly constructed roads involve the construction of a group of single roads consisting of walkways with a total length of approximately (7.3m) with shoulders of (2500m) on both sides. Indicating that the constructed roads are connected to roads that operate as entrances and exits with a length of (1405m), as well as linking the internal roads to Emirates Street through a lane for deceleration and another for acceleration with the work of asphalted shoulders on both sides.

The Director of Roads Projects Department stated that the project also includes the implementation of a single road with one direction near the seventh intersection for those coming from Sharjah – Al Dhaid Road (as another entrance to the market with a length of 663m) along with asphalted shoulders on both sides. In addition, 115 outdoor parking lots for vehicles have been completed with interlock in an area of2000 m2, in addition to the establishment of a lighting network and other associated service works, and the implementation of pedestrian walkways with interlocks in an area estimated at 1100 m2.
