As part of the Emirates Road Development Project, Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and Sharjah Police General Headquarters, has implemented a series of regulatory measures for truck traffic aimed at enhancing traffic flow and improving road safety.

The measures include prohibiting trucks from using Al Rahmaniya Tunnel, redirecting trucks arriving from the Emirate of Ajman through Al Zubair Tunnel towards Al Sajaa Industrial Area, introducing an additional traffic lane on the free-flow slip road serving vehicles heading to Al Zubair Agricultural Area, and creating a direct local access road from Emirates Road to Al Zubair Residential Area.

The works also include organizing truck traffic exiting Al Sajaa Area and heading towards the Emirate of Dubai through the designated tunnel, helping to improve traffic efficiency and reduce traffic conflicts on key road corridors in the area.

These measures form part of ongoing joint efforts to develop the road network and enhance transport infrastructure efficiency, keeping pace with increasing traffic demand and supporting urban and economic growth across the Emirate.

The measures will come into effect on Tuesday, 23 June 2026.

The Authority urges all road users to comply with traffic signs and approved traffic instructions to ensure safety and maintain smooth traffic movement.
