Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority Records Strong Operational Performance During the 2026 Summer Holiday

Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority recorded strong operational performance during the 2026 summer holiday, reflecting the efficiency and integration of the Emirate’s transport system and its capacity to meet the growing mobility needs of residents and visitors across Sharjah.

From June to August 2026, taxis completed more than 6.6 million trips, while over 2.4 million passengers travelled across intercity and public bus services, reflecting operational efficiency and the important role of public transport in providing flexible and diverse mobility options.

Marine transport services also completed 756 trips, carrying 12,240 passengers, further diversifying the transport options available to residents and visitors across the Emirate.

These indicators demonstrate the readiness of Sharjah’s transport system and the effectiveness of the Authority’s operational plans during periods of increased mobility demand, while reflecting its continued commitment to developing services and strengthening integration across different modes of transport.

In conjunction with the “Year of the Family 2026,” the Authority continues to advance safe, flexible, and sustainable transport services that place families’ comfort and safety at the heart of its priorities, expand mobility options, enhance traffic flow and quality of life, and provide residents and visitors with a more efficient and convenient mobility experience across the Emirate of Sharjah.
