Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority and ION, the sustainable mobility joint venture between BEEAH and Crescent Enterprises, have announced a strategic partnership to deploy more than 100 fast EV chargers across the Emirate of Sharjah.

The agreement was signed at BEEAH Headquarters by H.E. Eng. Yousif Khamis Mohammed Al Othmani, Chairman of the Authority, and Khaled Al Huraimel, Chairman of ION and Group CEO and Vice Chairman of BEEAH.

Under the partnership, the Authority will oversee and collaborate on the implementation of the project, while ION, as the first appointed Charge Point Operator in Sharjah, will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and operating the EV charging network across Sharjah City, as well as the Central and Eastern regions.

The network will be supported by ION’s smart application, enabling users to locate nearby charging stations, initiate charging, monitor sessions in real time, and complete payments seamlessly.

This partnership follows the approval of a regulatory framework for EV charging infrastructure by the Sharjah Executive Council, contributing to accelerating the transition toward sustainable mobility in the Emirate.
