His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, revealed a project to construct a dual tunnel linking the Emirates of Sharjah and Dubai, as part of ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure and enhance traffic flow between the two Emirates.

His Highness explained that the project aims to facilitate vehicle movement and improve the efficiency of the road network, contributing to a better mobility experience and supporting urban and economic growth in the region.

He further noted that the implementation of the project required the removal of the Al Taawun Roundabout Monument from its current location, with plans to relocate it to a suitable site while preserving its symbolic and aesthetic value as one of the area’s prominent landmarks.

The project represents a strategic development initiative that reflects Sharjah’s vision of implementing infrastructure projects that strengthen connectivity between key areas and provide sustainable traffic solutions to meet future development needs.
