Payment of Annual Bonus to Owners of Old Taxi Number Plates
As per the Instructions of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah,
Sharjah Roads & Transport Authority Pays AED 9,654,000 to Owners of Old Taxi Number Plates
Sharjah Roads & Transport Authority (SRTA) announced initiating the payment of the annual bonus to the owners of old taxi number plates in the Emirate for the year 2022, worth a total of AED 9,654,000, as per the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah; in order to provide for the requirements of decent living for this low-income group.
His Excellency Eng. Yousef Khamis Alathmani, Chairman of SRTA, revealed the payment of the annual bonus to the owners of the old taxi number plates, which are currently operated by the franchise companies under SRTA’s umbrella, where the total number of beneficiaries is 4827.
On this occasion, Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Jarwan, Director of SRTA’s Transport Affairs commented: “Such step comes in compliance with the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, with follow up by the Executive Council and out of His Highness’s keenness to be aware of the living conditions and welfare of his people, including the owners of old taxi number plates; in order to enable them to respond to life requirements and provide decent living for them and their families, as an embodiment of the prevailing concept of social solidarity”.
Mr. Al Jarwan mentioned that the bonuses are paid to the eligible owners who fulfill all the applicable terms and instructions, stressing SRTA’s efforts to facilitate the payment of bonuses in a hassle-free process. He also called on the owners of old taxi number plates who do not fulfill the prescribed terms to expeditiously finalize all the necessary papers and documents, and submit the same to receive the payable bonuses in turn. Moreover, Al Jarwan directed the owners to contact SRTA on 600525252 or 0564144667 to respond to all their inquiries.
