Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority announced during an interview on the “Direct Line” program that the Al Taawun Tunnel Project has reached 20% completion, with construction activities continuing around the clock to ensure the project is delivered according to the approved schedule.

The Al Taawun Tunnel Project is one of the Authority’s strategic infrastructure initiatives aimed at enhancing traffic flow, improving the efficiency of the road network, and reducing travel time between the Emirates of Sharjah and Dubai, providing a safer, smoother, and more efficient mobility experience for road users.

The Authority also noted that the project includes the development of new traffic link roads designed to accommodate increasing traffic volumes and provide sustainable transport solutions that support urban and economic growth while enhancing quality of life across the Emirate, in line with its vision of developing an integrated and future-ready road network.
