At a Total Cost of AED 3m SRTA Completes Internal Roads Project in "Al Khedira"

Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has completed a package of internal road projects in Al Khedira, at a total cost of AED 3m, in a way that contributes to the ease of movement without obstacles for the residents.

H.E Eng. Yousef Saleh Al Suwaiji, Chairman of Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), affirmed that the tremendous leaps that SRTA has made at all levels in the areas of road and transport projects across the Emirate are mainly aligned with the plans and strategy of the Sharjah Government as well as the vision of H.H Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), which aims to improve services and speed up project completion rates in accordance with the plans and strategy of the Sharjah Government.

Such efforts to rehabilitate and pave the internal roads at a cost of 3 million dirhams in Al Khedira are merely a part of the projects implemented by SRTA in the cities and regions of the Emirate, which is based on the directives of H.H Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, with a view to provide the people of the emirate with all the elements of a decent life, H.E Eng. Yousef Saleh Al Suwaiji added.

Eng. Fatima Al Ketbi, SRTA Director of Roads Projects Department, said that the project included the completion of a network of internal roads in “Al Khedira” district, according to the highest modern standards applicable in this field, and in line with the tremendous boom in the Emirate of Sharjah in the areas of road projects, indicating that the project will facilitate the movement of residents across the Emirate with no hindrances.

The project included the implementation and completion of a group of internal "single" roads in “Al Khedira” district, with a length of (1.7 km) and a width of (7.3 m) with a "one meter" shoulders on the two sides, indicating that the project also included the implementation of 11 parking spaces for vehicles at the Basra Mosque, in addition to some other accompanying services, she added.

The SRTA Director of Roads Projects Department also stressed that the project constitutes a qualitative addition to the projects implemented by SRTA in all cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, especially in the areas of infrastructure, in implementation of the directives of H.H Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, and the close follow-up by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohamed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate.
